i need some protection for the side of my Black Edition tank as already in 3 days of owning the bike it's showing some scuffing.

Reading up suggests Stomp Grips will offer protection. I see a few are using them, so, after doing some miles with them are they still worth the investment? I'm looking for something that's subtle.

They work, but are known to wear out the inside knee on your leathers.
However there are plenty of alternatives if you're just using it for the road.

For this reason I now only use them on my track bike.

Have a look at techspec. I've run them on my last two bikes and am very happy with them. Not as aggressive as stomp grips so won't chew up the inside of your pants but still provide plenty of grip and protect the tank.

Yes i do love the "locked in" feel of the stomp grips on track and road, however I have a nice hole in my side knee leathers...

thats reminds me, nice excuss for a new one piece i reckon lol...

I believe i went with the evo mate. It was a while back since i bought this. Easy to fit and no problems so far.

Hey, thanks for that. I think the evo is the most similar to stompgrip in that it has the raised sections. Good to know yours is working out.

Yes, similar but the reviews were that it is not too harsh compared to stompgrip. I think is down to the individual mate. There are others out there like R+G which they offer a black adhesive. Have a look..

For 2000 miles it is still good. I know i havent done enough but it depends if you use these for track days. If i do any "hard racing" then i know it is down to me as i need to be close to the tank as possible. I would suggest, try it and if you dont like it buy something else. Others in here might have a different opinion but they are all the same at the end of the day

Easygrip for me too. Easy to apply and give great grip. Havn't noticed any trouser wear yet on my Hood jeans but early days.

Hey Frank, can you post up a picture of them on your bike please? We have the same 'Black Edition' so I'd like to see how they look?
