hi chaps, purchased a 2014 hrc, just completed 3k on return from Assen, great weekend.
Right! I don't seem to be able to feather in the clutch, it's either in or out no in between, the shop informs me it's the new ram style clutch which everyone finds strange at first.
    Any ideas on this point?

    Cheers for your time

IMO mate, they are feeding you a load of horseshite.

My 2014 clutch feels exactly the same, and works the same as my 2010 did.

I one thing I did not notice on the RRE upgrades literature was any mention of a new ram style clutch.

Just check the fiche for a parts list that should tell you if anything has changed.

Think they may have meant/said RAMP style clutch (slipper clutch).
Still the worst clutch action of all the (many) bikes I've owned.

Am with Kent on this one dude the shop has been feedin you miss info, all the clutch parts in a 2014 blade according to the microfiche are identical part numbers to a 2010 blade.
There is only one part that is listed as only fitting the 2014/1015 and that's the clutch lifter pin but the pin looks the same but would need to hold the two parts up next to each other to really see differences.

    What was your previous bike?

Have you tried adjusting the clutch?
The adjustment might just be set to where your fingers don't have enuff strength to easily feather the clutch.

Sp1n, the same slipper clutch design has been used in the blade since 2008 and only becomes active when the rear wheel is trying to push excess wheel speed through the clutch hence the ramps mainly during fast higher speed downshifts.

The ramp style slipper clutches have been used by all the main manufactures but with slight design tweaks but all do the same thing!
Aftermarket clutches also use ramps but often use ball bearings to allow the slipper to slide more freely and reduce friction.

I know exactly what a slipper clutch is..... I just thought the op had misheard.
Knowing still doesn't make it anything other than a notchy, horrible clutch action.

Hi previous bikes gsxr750, hyabusa, rrw blade, zx10r, crosstourer, husaberg, etc
Adjusted clutch and I do like it to bite early, it just feels notchie, tried pazzio levers as well, maybe I just need to persevere.
I am no moaner but I'm also find the brakes vague, going to replace pads for brembo pads to start with, might even fit brembo calliper if I can afford it as SP model
Cheers for feedback all good stuff
