I need to remove my battery, but the screw just under the seat toward the rear end of the bike is shredded. I can not for the life of me get it out. Any ideas how to get this screw out? I've tried everything, any advice would be great. Thanks
You'll need a centre dot punch and a hammer, place the centre dot near the edge of the head and tap the bolt anti clockwise to free the bolt! Have done this loads of times on bolts at work where guys have fecked up the head on them

Couple of things: 1. Put an elastic band over the head of the bolt and place the screw driver/allen key into the elastic band for more friction/traction/grip 2. If there is enough of a head left, use an impact driver (with an elastic band too if you prefer) 3. Tap it out with a drill 4. What @sps170373 said As others have said; copper slip the bast*rds when replacing!
I see someone already replaced the original screw with a "quality" Allen headed bolt. As above hammer oversized torx bit in and you should get it out. Replace bolts on both sides, don't over tighten and copper grease should ensure it never happens again.
Could be awkward, as its into the base of the seat, not solid,,mine has large crosshead screws, only greased them last night, I then thought, if I need to get in there while on the road it will not be easy, so will replace them with allen key bolts and carry a set under rear seat. I the bolt the same on the other side, ie,,allen bolt ?
looks like you have one side out. What puzzles me is why the screw is stuck. In fact on mine I used Loctite (blue) a couple of time coz didn't want it to rattle loose and had no problem unscrewing it. I personally would go for drilling the head out and removing the remaining thread followed by replacing it with a hex bolt (dome head) Hopefully your problem is not caused by corrosion but over tightning
just had a go at mine....super tight, but both out....so what size allen bolt do i replace them with...thanks
I ordered allen headed stainless bolts, washers and collars to replicate the original dimensions of the screws. Cost about £11 from probolt, but it satisfies my OCD If you're wanting exact sizes of all bits PM me.
+1 for belting a torx into the hole. I had exactly the same issue with my Blade on the same bolt and on the lower fairing bolt beneath the chain on the same side. Torx is the only thing that would shift them. Even nipping the fairing one back up LIGHTLY it was still stuck the next time it needed removing.
Same happened to me on my 2010 blade. Had to use one of the extractor kits to get it out. Worked fine.
