Hi I'm looking for suggestions for a bike which would be good for riding 2 up but that's light, easy to handle, comfy and short in the seat. I've got an ST1300 and although it's a hell of a bike, it's probably too heavy for me to feel comfortable on my own and once 2 up it's a nightmare for me as I'm built like the guy from the Mr Muscle adverts. Like the look of the BMW R nine T and the Triumph Bonnie but I'm not sure either of these will be great for anything other than 50 - 75 trips Suggestions as to what I should try please
I've just ordered a T120 Bonneville. Low seat height (1st bike I've ever had both feet flat on the ground) and while it's no lightweight it seems to carry its weight low down. I've also got an FJR1300 which will remain the bike of choice for touring but am looking forward to 300 mile days out on the Triumph with the wife. I only had a 2 hour test ride on the Bonnie and while it doesn't have anything like the power of a big Japanese multi I really enjoyed the relaxed riding and effortless torque. Seat and riding position are good. I don't get it until August so can't really say much more. Maybe worth having a test ride?
Mate recently bought an MT09'Tracer for 2 up riding/touring He is short in the leg area and found most bikes to tall especially with a pillion, but loves the Yam, good amount of tech on it, characterful 3 pot, handles well, and cheap compared with the opposition
