I've decided to get me a little play thing for the winter months, I know a few of the guys on here have had supermoto's in the past so would value your opinions on the following, any advice on pitfalls what to look out for which you think would be the better option etc etc much appreciated option 1. 2006 ktm 625 double exhaust model, unmodded apart from shiny bits and twin remus exhausts buyer wants £2700, 30lbs heavier than option 2 if the internet forums are to be believed. Im in the area tomorrow, have spoken to the owner so going over for a looksee ktm 625 smc supermoto low miles in black | eBay option 2. 2004 ktm 625 single exhaust model, bolt standard could probably get it for £2300 perhaps a little less but i'd then have to put an exhaust and a tail tidy on it, sacrilege not to !! 2004 KTM 625 SMC ORANGE | eBay option 3. 2004 Husqvarna 570 sm, haven't done any browsing on this as only spotted it today, owner wants £2700 with an akraprovic fitted, love the look of it ! 2004 Husqvarna SMR 570 Supermoto | eBay
Hi I have owned your 1st option and its a great buy in my opion you should buy that one its just a better looking bike Your option 2 don't know much about Option 3 no electric start unless you like kicking a single over Option 4 again don't know much about But whatever you decide you will have loads of fun
Had a 690 SMC great for B road blasting crap above 70mph and it vibrated like hell! Soon missed my sports bike so pated ways with it. Not a bad piece of kit.
The KTMs (excluding the 660 SMC) IMO, absolutely must have an exhaust, jet kit and remove emmissions restrictions. Shorter gearing is also essential. The best advice I can give when looking at particular examples is look very carefully for corrosion (frame, engine fittings, etc). Here's the 640 (below) I sold recently for £1800. P.S. I'm assuming you know roughly what you're buying here, so won't bother mentioning the lack of comfort, wind protection, vibration, etc. KTM 640 LC4 Supermoto 2004 (54 reg) with Akrapovic exhaust | eBay
