I sometimes take out my daughter or my wife, and was wondering if anyone here does the same and adjusted the rear spring pretty load or for that matter anything else first? On my R1 with WP suspension I just used to wind up the spring a few clicks. Any advice welcome as was gonna take the missus out this weekend.

Hi nothing major just front 36psi & rear 42psi (tyres). One full turn harder on ten screw nothing on comp rear shock. leave forks as they are. Riding style is the biggest factor when taking a pillion. Silky smooth does it, enjoy :)

Excellent seems simple. I was just wondering if the the chain tension would be too tight as I never like the thought of that.

Hi I to ride with the wife on the rear I usually add two clicks on the spring from 4 to 6 and put the compression up by 1 complete turn hope it helps

Blakely, I do short and long trips 2up and in general I compress the spring pre-load by 2 clicks and increase the rear tyre pressure to ~40psi.
No adjustments to the chain are needed. I tend not to play with rear rebound/compression damping, however if I know that a road might be bumpy (e.g. some Alpine roads) I would soften the compression to avoid unnecessary vibrations ')

Awesome thanks very much. It makes the expensive toy sit that little bit easier with the wife when she can have some fun too ;)
