Anybody know how easy or not this is? Or best left to someone that knows what they are doing? How would I support the bike to remove it?

    Thanks
    Dan

its not too difficult a job if you have the correct tools. An ABBA stand would come in handy for this.

it's easy enough, but if you dont have fixed footrests then it can be a pain to support the bike (can be done though ).you'll need a castelated socket to remove the main shaft aswell.

Cheers for the replies, I don't have an ABBA stand or anything similar...

Scooby I have Gilles VCR's on at the minute shouldnt be too hard to get hold of one of those sockets.

So how do I support it without one of those stands on the footrests?

Some straps round the rear subframe and then hoisted up from above. Then a paddock stand on the front wheel.

Buy an ABBA stand, do the job properly, you don't want your pride n joy falling over because you used red neck methods to save a few quid. Removing the swing arm wont be hard, but set yourself aside a day to do it as you always end up with something more to do or some complication, if it take a couple of hours and goes smoothly then great.

Cheers, I'll probably end up having to buy one as it'll be out for a week for two so better safe than sorry!

2x car jack stands under the frame would do it fine. Very easy to swap it'll not take long!

Just having a look at the bike and the pivot shaft is held in by normal socket shaped nut/bolt the one above on the rightside is held in by the castle type which I assume is an engine mount? Does that sound right?
