    yucky fork leak...

Been meaning to get it done since about day 7, but a little moisture has recently turned into a flood. I guess you get what you get when they spend 60 minutes assembling the bike.

Hopefully I can ride it over to Honda tomorrow without slipping on my own juices!

could just be a bit of grit unde the fork seal,a quick run around with a thin bit of plastic, and spray of brake cleaner soon sorts it,if it is in fact that.

I've been really unlucky with forks, on average I get a leak every 15k or so. If it not the seals then it's the bushings, last time it was the stanchions, the amount I've spent maintaining and upgrading the OEM forks could have gone towards a pair of Swedish gold:mad:.
Still I've got a set of K-tech upgraded OEMs that are sublime;)!

Make sure they give you a set of new pads too, did a track day on contaminated pads ( with fork oil) and lets say I had to replace not only my leathers jeans but also my seat cover too!!

Its probably worth taking the cable tie off before you take it in - just in case they say that could have caused it. I bought a second hand bike which had a slight fork leak and a cable tie had been fitted very tightly to the fork leg. A mate suggested I remove the tie and it was fine from then on! Maybe just coincidence as I know a lot of people fit them to check suspension travel.

Well top notch service from Chiswick Honda. Bike is back - shiny and clean. Lent me an nc750 for the day.

Fork seal replaced and all put back together again - noticeably a happier ride (obviously!) and bike looks like new again! :)

    fecking snap, leaking seal again.

Booked into local to have it replaced but managed to stop the leak by scaping the seal with an old credit card. It's lost bit of oil, should I get the fork serviced anyway - the forks have done about 15k since last change

Thought as much, seem to be throwing money at these forks, would have easily covered some ohlins cartidges or a couple sets of BPFs

I hear you SW!, for some reason I feel committed with these forks as they are K-tech'ed up just for me! Seen YG sells SP ohlins for about grand fricken bargain if I hadn't spanked that (and some )already on my OEMs:oops:

Already thinking heathen thoughts and moving on to something new maybe a kwak, yam or even german!
