For my previous bike I purchased a nice Tech 7 magnetic tank bag that I used all the time. Now being the proud owner of a 2013 fireblade I find I can't use my tank bag due to the plastic tank. Has anyone got a solution for this or a simple modification so I can still use my magnetic bag or will i need to bin it and use a different luggage system.

Sell it on ebay and buy a Givi qiucklock tankbag.

+1, tank lock systems the nuts.

The only think is if you have a carbon pad thing of the petrol can you'll need to get longer bolts

If you are really attached to your current bag you can fit some magnets under the tank cover in the locations of your tank bags.
I Haven't done this personally but did look into it for the same reasons as you.
but in the end, I put my tank bag in the cupboard and started using my rucksack!

Tank lock is a good system but even with longer bolts to go through the carbon pad the fixing ring gets bowed and the bag comes off at shall we say 'higher' speeds FFS! thanks to the strap I still have the bag! - I took my carbon pad off and it worked as it should even at double the national speed limit - private road I think it was... :)

The Quick lock bags do look good but I'd go for the Bagster tank cover and bag option, which is what I've used for years now, change the bike you just buy a new tank cover for a new bike.
A mate has a Givi quick lock bag on his Gixxer and it maybe he's just cack-handed and awkward, but the fact you have to unlatch the bag and find somewhere to put while refueling caused him no end of hassle, and for the rest of us no end of amusement. The Bagster bag on the other hand unclips at the rear of the bag and hinges up to allow access to the fuel filler without having to fully remove the bag, finish fuelling and pop the bag back down, quick and easy.
Bagster do colour matched tank covers too which are actually a pretty good match, at least my 09 HRC cover is.

If you don't want to change your bag you could stick some metal tape to the inside of your tank for the magnets on your bag to lock on to.

I taped some magnets from a old tank bag under the tank, you need to get the polarity right though.

This seems like the best idea to me, why spend money buying a new bag and fixing when there is a simple solution. Thanks Barstewardsquad.
