Tank pad, which one?

Bike is due back tomorrow, REPAIRED. . I will need to put a new tank pad on.
I had the 4 section HRC one on,I now fancy a change. This is the one, only 3 sections, does it still look ok?

I've just bought a Puig clear one!

Gone off them fake carbon look ones

 

Or a genuine carbon one.

 

Be careful with some of the non-OEM cheap ones. They don't stick well - even after cleaning tank with isopropyl alcohol. I found out this after fitting the 'free' pad supplied with my Chinese fairings.

 

Cheers, I think I will opt for the 3 section genuine carbon Honda one.

I've never seen gel domed genuine carbon before. It also looks flat......how you gonna get that to fit the curve of the tank?

 

Doble motorcycles, the packet looks Honda. I can't see them selling non-OEM gear in Honda packaging.

 

Not doubting it's genuine Honda, but it will be Carbon look not actual Carbon Fibre - Actual carbon fibre for a tank protector would be silly, unless it was pre curved to fit your tank. And even then people fit them in different places on the tank.

 

I've had two of these genuine Honda ones, they're not carbon though. They're carbon look. They're flexible.....carbon is not

Like I said. .....I've had two genuine Honda (in Honda Packaging) not doubting they are genuine Honda.....but they are carbon look! Gel domed carbon look. If it was carbon it would be pre formed like the ART carbon ones.....which I've also had.

I think you'll find it's 'Genuine Accessories' not 'genuine carbon'. It's a carbon effect and still a gel-coat plastic with adhesive backing.

Ive just order this last night its one of them genuine Honda ones made of Flexi carbon, mixed with rubber gel

I reckon this baby is going on. I would like it in 4 sections(longer) but not available. I don't want HRC one.

 

That little lot came pre-fitted on mine. Looks good in my opinion!

 

Clear one is the way to go......that way if you put it on skew whiff no one will notice

 

If you put it on even 1mm out of true I reckon you'll be pulled up on it between me & @nigelrb
