Yep, Bruce is an absolute star who I've been lucky enough to have had the pleasure to get to know through Jimbo. No Bullshit, he really does love riding and has given up everything to complete the trip.

I like him even more for including my good self in the closing clip of one of the VID's, already had film offers on the back of it! Jimbo's in some of them too, but more as an extra, he also wasn't allowed to talk.

Like Jason says, well worth following him. The write up's and Vids are awesome.

He is in Morocco at the moment that's an interesting place , about 10 us a couple of years ago(doing enduro) went from Malaga to Morocco (customs going over was fun)they took ages to let us through so we were watching Moroccans come through on clapped out motorbikes ,getting searched and the stuff the custom blokes were finding ,one bloke had about 30 door locks all stripped down even the boxes and hid throughout the bike so he could then reassemble and sell back in morocco, and all the cars there with panels cut out where they would of been searching for drugs ,brand new bmws as well as old stuff.

Going through some villages you would make sure you were not the back rider as a few of us had been stoned by local kids ,so you can imagine when we all saw a village coming what happened a huge dust cloud and everyone on the gas (very funny looking back)and the roads could be interesting to say the least and we were on enduro bikes .

He is a brave man doing Morocco on his own as I would not of fancied it ,some villages we pulled in to the whole village surrounded us no trouble just very intimidating as they just wanted to see the bikes and sell us drugs etc.

That's my YouTube fix for the next 18 months and you can even sponsor him a tank of fuel or more on his website and all for a good cause.

I'll have a look and see how to do it unless Matt beats me there.

You sending me a picture and a job spec sheet, Jimbo?

Does not sound good at all:

"Hi folks, sorry for the radio silence but its been one hell of a week! Myself and Robert, (the chap I've buddied up with) are safe and in Dakar. But I'm afraid I've had to make the decision to end the trip for me. There is a huge story behind this, and I promise I'll update you all very soon. Internet access is sporadic to say the least. Hopefully be flying home soon. Apologies to all."

I know the subframe snapped, he had it braced up and maybe it failed again - he was also being ripped off ALL THE TIME in West Africa.

Feel really sorry for him - his reasons, belief in the trip etc. plus putting life on hold.

Yeah, been in contact with him via text and looks like it's all off. He's looking at shipping options for the bike. God knows what The huge story is but I'm guessing it's big as he wouldn't have taken the decision lightly!!

He's gutted as is everyone else for him, dont think it was the sub frame, as we could have shipped him the parts, but may have been the final straw??

As said al, so much effort and sacrifice gone into it, such a shame.... I'll keep you posted.

For anyone who's visited that part of Africa? You will only be too aware some of the problems Bruce will be facing whilst being stuck there.
Hope it all comes good very quickly for him!

Have been following Bruce/teapot every day and am really so sorry for him.

Hope he makes it back OK and all in one piece.

Doing solo trips can be very very hard when the shit hits the fan.

Maybe he can build on this experience and turn it into a positive for the future.

i know he loved the N260 in Northern Spain - I sent him links to the videos of my trip there last year - maybe we invite him onto the Scotland trip in May as guest after dinner speaker one night!
