Blade vs Crow - not a good competition - ok the crow paid the ultimate price, my leathers were covered in blood n feathers, but the impact has wiped out my headlight protector, nearside headlight and mashed my nose cone !! What a mess...my venture shield kit just didn't help at all - dya think I've got cause for complaint ??

I've hit a few birds but never had that sort of damage! The front end on these must be pretty fragile.

Hope you get it sorted. Is this your 3rd nose cone now?

Not good news mate, I have the stuff on the bike mate. works well but not against a crow. lucky it did not hit your head/chest. I know of a few people who have and it bloody hurts from the sound of it

Yup, 3rd nosecone coming up - I've got a mahooossive bruise on my left bicep up into my shoulder this morning, reckon I hit the thing doing just shy of a ton. In the cold light of 'the morning after' I know I've been really lucky - in that it hit the bike 1st !
Must admit that this is the biggest impact I've had on the bike - have culled sparrows n starlings before but never anything so big, am pleased I didn't see the thing coming as there'd have been more than blood n feathers to clean off ma leathers this morning...

    Would like to see some.

I remember hitting a bird a few years back. Got off and had a look and couldn't see any damage or bird remains

6 months later took fairing off for winter clean and found a well done crispy sparrow wedged in-between fairing and the rad!

easy. upload to photobucket, flickr for free etc... just copy the link of the pic and when you post add this link into the pic second on the board above your post

would also be interested to see what a bird can do to a blade

    That's soo funny

Fairings off, nose n headlight assy stripped - nose ordered (arrives Thursday), headlight ordered (arrives Wednesday) - just need the bits and I can re-assemble !!

Must comment that IMO the plastics on these bikes are absolute rubbish - they are so thin it's unbelievable !!

Mr.Honda please chase performance and weight, but not at the expense of your road going punters !!
Am seriously tempted to go for an aftermarket set and have them painted up !!

I reckon that the damage would have been worse if the venture shield hadn't been in place - I'll be fitting it again that's for certain !

Had a seagull hit me side on in Slough before. It glided across the road and BANG!

I was only going slow through an industrial estate but the sheer sudden fright was worse than any damage.

Very comical though, watching it waddle around in circles afterwards like Norman Wisdom.

Should have put it out of it's misery but was too busy wiping my backside...
