Think positive Rob, it's in mid July, wear leathers and take light waterproofs!

But if it ain't nice, I have used a Rev'it textile suit from getgeared for the past couple of years for showery days, wouldn't want to trust it in a downpour but it's grand for summer rain, with jacket and trousers it was just just under £300. I think it was called Energy?

I have an Alpinestars jacket and a mate of mine is selling his on ebay and it's virtually un worn. It's a great jacket with loads of pockets so great for travelling in. It's a large though.

Alpinestar touring goretex jacket size L | eBay

I use Wolf Texiles, there ok but would much prefer to wear leathers but like you said it pisses down in France /Germany.

Used Rukka for years, normally get about 7 years out of a suit, which equates to around 100,000 miles on my schedule, on my 3rd suit, never leaked a drop, never split, zip never broke, its dear if you buy in the UK, mail order from Germany is half the price, but it works.

Perfect for touring, don't end up bathed in sweat when its hot, and don't have the gymnastics when it rains of trying to get waterproofs over leathers.

I was talking to a guy that's involved sourcing the Police kit, they have recently done lots of tests, water penetration, abrasion, zips etc. Rukka came out best. To be fair I don't know what the competition was but it was all those that wanted the police contract. I use Rukka it's good, not cheap though.
