First of all want to say sorry for lack of post's lately as I am still currently using my winter bike (R6) up here in Scotland as the weather is still pretty much pish. Any way Bike season is just around the corner and I can not wait to try out my recently purchased Fireblade 918. She's in pretty good condition as for a bike that is about 18 year old she has just passed her first 20k. The previous owner only used her when the sun comes out and as you fellow members who stay up North know its not very often you get to see this big ball of light in the sky. That said Its Time to book her check the Blade and book the Mot. Wee service was only needed so I headed out to get the MoT. Sounds all good right?? Well no.. With my surprise as I stopped about 3 miles near the MoT test centre I noticed something was wrong. It looked like there was oil all over my front wheel. "What the fuck is that from?" I said. Looked A little higher thinking its from the engine. Turned out the Fork seals have gone. Balls...So new seals are on there way. Lucky I found it. Need to book the BIG day again once I have it all sorted.
That's a bummer, still it's better happening now. The front end will probably feel better with some fresh oil in the forks. Good luck with the MOT
