Last week I went a euro tour with a few mates. Unfortunately the last day didn't quite go as planned. Just 30 miles from getting back to my mates house in Germany where I was staying before coming back to the UK on my own we got nicked for speeding €530 fine. Then 10 minutes after leaving the police we hit a tornado and hail storm. We made it to the hard shoulder but two of us went down trying to stop. Luckily no injuries other than a few bruises. Think I might get ABS next time The storm The bike
Im sure all the boys wish you well and hope it gets sorted out. Looking at the Bike it looks like you hit a Tree .Did it cart wheel or something ?
The skid mark was there already. We were in the fast lane when we hit the storm. No choice but to stop so headed for the hard shoulder. I lost the front under braking and slid in a straight line. The bike hit an upright of the Armco. Glad it was the bike not me ! I'm fully comp. & protected no claims. Confirmed with insurance co before I left so hoping to get list price less £500 excess. Breakdown insurance arranged me a flight home and taxi from the airport.
Can you guys see the YouTube bid of the storm ? I'm on my phone and can't see it. You need to see what we hit.
Like all the folks on here have said glad you are ok ..............sorry to see the bike in such a mess but as long as you are ok ...... the German police were a bit strong with the fines we were there a year ago god never seemed to bother with us, what speed were you doing
jesus mate - glad you walked away havnt seen fork legs snapped like that before !!! if wasnt for the bike - cool storm - bet that hurt being under that - then under the bike
Got done for 186 kph in a 100 kph zone plus undertaking. Was a unmarked BMW fair cop. On a lighter note I can confirm the Blade's clocks stop at 185 mph but it was still pulling on some of the unlimited section I must say I prefer the German system of a steep fine on the spot and it's all done with. In the UK that would have equated to 115 in a 60 !!! I would have to wait for 6 months, go to court, get at least ban and a big fine and maybe even worse.
That is crazy weather! I've been caught-out in a snow shower over here in April before which I thought was a challenge but that's a whole new level. Gutted for you...
Just seen this thread, you were very lucky to walk away from that one mate, but as others have mentioned as long as your ok its all good I hope you get another bike sorted soon, or will you wait for the newer model
