    Hi all

Just joined the site as my brand new fireblade has arrived.
Last Saturday started out great, bike all polished up ready to go.
Decided to go for a quick spin.

Got to the end of the road and binned it on the new tyres at approx 5 mph. £2500 damage and not happy to say the least. Tyres were the slippiest i have ever come across.

On the bright side. I was ok apart from the tears misting my visor up.Bike now fixed before anyone could see my embarrassment. Wife knows though.

Looking forward to warmer weather to try out properly. Did get straight back on it and rode to stratford upon avon . Lovely bike, lovely gearbox.

    Cheers

ps hope the next installment about my new life with a fireblade will be better

Give the tyres a good scrub with warm soapy water and a scouring pad, should make them less slippy.

    Welcome to the club.

Nasty , certain brands are more slippery than others so its easy done.
Hope you get it all sorted soon.

    Welcome Harry

Same thing nearly happened to me on the GSXR. New set of hoops on, Pirelli Rosso II, slight overuse from the right hand and it had a crazy tank slapper moment man. No idea how I even stayed on the thing. 5 months later I wrote it off :-(

Chin up though, safe riding and get some pics up of your new pride and joy :)
