    Alloha
I'm booked in for a short stay (3 days) at the Isle of Man.
My first time over there - figured I'd go while its quiet before going when it's manic ;)

I have a bed/brekkie deal happening, but are there any recommended places to go for food and a drink and (other than riding like a tit over the mountain) any other recommended places to visit while I'm over there?

Plenty of info on the IOM Tourism Website :- Isle of Man | For a unique holiday or break close to the UK & Ireland

Great place - I've been every year to the TT since 1991 and also go other times of year. For riding the bike its a lot better out of TT, obviously a lot quieter and less speed limits. There are some really good roads off the TT course - don't just stay on the Circuit.

The main area in Douglas is the Strand - a few decent pubs - Sam Webbs, Jacks, etc. Queens down at other end of the Prom is a popular place as well.

Calf Of Man in the South of the Island is good - a decent café there and great views http://www.visitisleofman.com/placestovisit/natureandbeauty/soundandcalfofman.xml . Peel worth a visit, Marine Hotel good for food http://www.marinehotelpeel.co.uk/

There is even a Honda Dealer :) http://www.isleofmanhonda.com/

    Where are you staying?

    Cheers Ian
Thanks for the links - I'm sure they'll come in useful.

Good to get a personal opinion too (rather than what the tourist board advertised)

I'm staying at the Glen Helen Inn at ...er ... Glen Helen.
Seems alright - got a good price for my 2 nights too :)

Go to Niarbyl, it's right on the cliff edge with fantastic food at a reasonable price. It's also where you can go whale and dolphin watching and the views are stunning. I've been all over the island and this has to be the best for me :)

The Isle of Man museum in Douglas is good as it has a good bit of motorcycle memorabilia

Snaefell is also good as there is a well-known saying in the Isle of Man that on a clear day six kingdoms can be seen from the top: the Isle of Man, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Heaven.[1] Some versions add a seventh kingdom, that of Manannán, (or the Sea)
