The joy was when I fitted a set of Marvic Penta 4 Mag wheels the lightest on the market.
Completely transformed the bikes braking, handling, engine response, tyre and chain wear.
There is no other add on goodie that has such a profound effect on two wheels, regretted instantly when I sold my Marchenisi off the current blade

One of my joys is fitting a good exhaust to the bike, from sewing machine to sports bike :) in half an hour, there is no better feeling than going out for a ride with your debaffled bike, hearing the engine scream :)

+1 on the wheels, I had magnesium dymags fitted to the R1 and it was the single best mod I ever made, shame they cost so much, might treat the blade one day.... mmmmm carbon BST's

Not being the technical rider many of you guy's are, with me it's something a bit more emotive. That fire up ritual. I like to see some numbers on the temp gauge before I get on so always start up before I put on my helmet and gloves or do up my jacket. Now I run my bike virtually as standard and the sound the comes from that huge can at cold start tickover is like the enterprise going to warp. It's such an reassuring 'I've got more going on than you'll ever need' arrogance to it that it makes me feel better than everybody else around me. Then after a minute, when it drops back to normal tickover even that gives off a 'that's what I'm capable of even before you start interfering. Now what have you got?' vibe. It's like stroking an angry cat. You know who really is in charge. Then, when you select that first, cold gear and it goes 'bang!', that's the cat doing that half hearted 'f**k off lunge over it's shoulder at you when it's had enough.

    Pumps me before I start.

I love the feeling of freedom I get when out on my bike, just me and the bike flying along at speed dodging from side to side and just blasting through the air. No better feeling for me. (hope the misses doesnt read this).

The warm smell and the exhaust making that tapping noise after a run and you have just put it in the Garage.

When i split up with my sons mother i hard time coming to terms with it and coildnt get the cow out of my head . As soon as i jumped on the bike my head was clear , Only concentrating on holding my line , how fast I'm moving and whats in the distance .

The bike really helped me through that hard time as it instantly cleared my thoughts of all the other crap i had going on .. Just for that i love and owe motorcycling loads .

For me its the feeling you get parked up after a ride on your favourite piece of road. Getting a good bleather with ur mates n getting back on the bike knowing you've got it all to do again. Happy days.

Doing a trackday in the Novices group, letting everyone disappear and then nailing it on the long straights. My bike managed 150mph on the runway at Odiham with lowered gearing and dodgy carbs. No cops, cameras or tvats in cars!!!

Some years back had a right old barny with 'er indoors so just sodded off to Barcelona using non motorways routes imagining I was throttling the throttle for a reason was so steamed up. Returned 4 days later was confronted with where the hell have you been. Barcelona cause you made me so mad so why didnt you go round the M25. It was a bloody big argument needing that mileage, she had no answer to that lol

first trackday, many more experanced people on track. at the front of the Que and only having 1 person over take you. As above also the feeling of going fast with no cars on the wrong side of the road. No pposts to fly into and no police

Getting away from it all! Knowing you have nothing to do for the next few days but ride the bike!! Stopping for a well earned break and looking at your machine, knowing your about to do it all again!!

    Happy days...
