That's right it's show time in Manchester this weekend .went a few years ago and wasn't the best but you never know check website for further info .There is a band playing all weekend called the rain band who are now topping the charts in Italy singing about Marco and they can't get enough of it! Might see what all the fuss is about on you tube later.
I met the Rainband at Mugello and donated my signed T-Shirt of Mugello to the foundation - its about £15 to have a look round bikes you can see at dealers - they have John McPints superstock bike on display, but think I've seen that somewhere already today (more to follow lol)
Not only sat on it, got to smell the coffee (well petrol) - jesus the thing must run on avgas or similar!
That's because you spend more time hanging about in Hunts than you do at work .Are you Johns secret partner? Lol
Ha - they called me up at 16:55 - 'when you returning the loan bike and picking your one up' - well I finish at 5.00 so be there about 5:15 - I do actually do a full days work lol
They are a great band and worth a look. I saw them support Simple Minds at Delamere in 2011. Fantastic Gig!! Plus you'll get to drool and stroke some nice pieces of machinery. Sounds like a top option if you ask me
Years ago when I last went but going tomorrow as I've got nothing else on. If the weather stays fine I may even go for a blast after.
Went the show yesterday, not a great deal there, I saw Michael Dunlop at the Hunts stand, Had a good natter to a bloke at the firebladers forum stand he had a Repsol on show with a leo gp pro on it and the more i see them the more l like them and had some new custom ear plugs done.
Was it worth the £15 entry fee? Heard it was 'generally busy' with the Hunts stand (which i think Honda UK supported in some way getting McPint's bike maybe) the largest there I went to the NEC so could not see a reason to go. Can't help but think if it was not so close to Christmas when people are generally short of ££'s and weather bad it may do better - say early / mid March?
To be honest mate 15 a bit much, only reason i went is for the ear plugs as my old one's have started to hurt my left ear. Kawasaki had a stand there. It was fairly busy, did't fancy going in to Manchester with the game on today.
Just got back from the show and it was crap, Hunts was the only stand that was any good. Lots of empty space and not many bargains.
Dainese did not bother to attend - they just reminded people to visit their store after going there on their Facebook site. I think 'show bargains' have gone now - with the internet there is an easy route to shift old stock cheap - that said everyone likes to walk away with stuff - I know at the NEC I ended up with a new lid, Rad guard and heated grips for the R1 which I knew I would need - was tough but managed to get £5 off at the R&G stand by buying 2 sets of grips and a guard at the same time! The NEC was 6 weeks ago - but I guess some folk don't like to travel - the extra cost / time
I thought is was very poor: i'd be surprised if its on at all next year. Ok if you wanted to buy unbranded clothing from asian looking gentlemen. Total apathy from the traders I spoke to & a lot of empty space.
