Before I start does anyone know someone who has one and what they think? Reason I ask is I sat on one at Grantham Honda today and I quite like it. The idea of a quickshifter and Akrapovic puts weight to it too. 100% though it will not replace the blade just be next to it. Cheers
I had one, bought it in May 2014 when they first came out. Put 12,100 miles on it and traded it in for the Blade, about three months ago. What can I say, lovely bike. Put an after market pipe on it 'cause it sounds a bit weak with a standard pipe, and also to make the most of that lovely V4 sound. A bit more refined than the Blade. I usually only have one bike at a time, and wanted a bit more power for touring trips abroad, so traded it in. The only minor annoyance is the indicator switch is a bit low, below the horn, so at first pipped the horn by mistake a few times - but you get used to it - mostly ! Nice looking bike (couldn't take my eyes off it !) manageable size, quick enough really I suppose - just not CBR quick. Handles beautifully. VFR800 drama-1 by 660 Mattie, on Flickr
Had a vfr over the summer Found it a great bike for a sporty rider who wants to tone it down a bit. When on a open road eg (crossgates) and the motor's singing away in the higher revs it's great fun. Despite its weight once moving its an agile handling bike just not so flickable and focused like the blade. Heated grips have been great this summer and 200 mile tank range. Compared to my repsol More people have stopped and asked about the vfr than my blade ever does [emoji23]
Having realised I'm getting no younger after doing nearly 2,000 miles on my Blade in a week I'm finding myself researching the VFR ! Neck, forearms, lower back all currently reminders of a fab week in Germany and Switzerland ! We will see.....or perhaps I should just give my head a wobble Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You could be right ! I usually do a weeks Euro trip each year so I'm questioning why get something a little more comfortable when the other 51 weeks I would spend wishing I hadn't swapped the Blade Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
If the VFR had a few more ponies, It would have differently been my next bike. The Blade is at the moment a great all rounder for me. So pleased in fact, that I have p/x my blade for a great deal on a new Blade SP.
Had to go for that great paint finish on the HRC. Last of the pure blades. Going to be a 66 plate. Still got mine for another week. But then its 5 weeks without a bike
5 weeks ....that's a long time when the sun's shining & the roads are beckoning... I'll keep my eye out for you
