You guys who did the run into Hawes from the south/settle or from M6.

I really enjoyed the stretch from dead sheep corner (may he rest in peace) into Hawes; but that massive jump scared the bejesus out of me!

I had no idea what was coming & was hard on the gas at the time; I landed on the front wheel & think the damper saved me from a major league slapper!

How fast do you think we were going before lift off?

I hate sudden unexpected jumps in the road

Don't mind it when you know they're coming up and can make a reasoned decision about how much air you want to get :D

THat jump WAS mentioned on a thread with a warning - but maybe should have been clearer - I have also been over that - now I know its there its really tough - go for it and get huge air and risk stacking (which is cool to the point it goes wrong) or back off and just have the back wheel bounce off.

HEre is some video of that bit of road, sadly missing the jump as memory card filled up -

Need to re-upload as quaility of the original is good

Well it calmed me down for sure!

My lad is still on a high; he only passed his test in Feb & this was by far his longest, most spirited ride.

I think he even enjoyed the jump.

    :)
