Thefirebloke And7rp2 and Jason attended a 'free' track day at Oulton Park in association with Michelin tyres. ** I tagged along to see how things run, in preparation for my 1st.* I've compiled a short thread with the view of showing you all how the day went for our three intrepid forum members.* Enjoy? Can I just start by saying, this was my first visit to a race circuit linked to motorcycles, so I'm sorry if I enthuse a little more than I should? I finished work at midnight, rolled over to Thefirebloke for 05.30 ready to head of to Oulton park.* We arrived at the circuit to be greeted what looked like a gypsy invasion, there were caravans, lorries, and transit vans coming out of the woodwork, this was no ordinary track day.* The weather was not looking too promising?* Soon after arriving this chap turned up.* And7rp2 And then this chap.* Jason The rides.* And7rp2 Kawasaki ZX7r Jason.* Honda Fireblade.* This chap made an appearance.* We shall call him Barney.* Ready for the off.* Out on track.*
All three riders gave an excellent account of themselves.* The rode very well, and at a very good pace.* They did enjoy the odd duel throughout the day* * Thefirebloke dragging his knee.* And then keeping them well out of the way.* Probably the best wheelie I saw today? Right, that's me done for now.* There's loads of pics, certainly too many to post just now. Great pics gaz, i did pop down but didn't get there till just after 3, done 3 full laps of the carpark and pits but couldn't find you guys, jesus it was a busy day there wasn't it mate ?? havn't seen the car park that full since last BSB. So trundled over to the avenue and dentons to watch the action but all was halted while the recovery truck went out on a collection, hung around till it restarted and watched a few more laps, some dude in white and fluro yellow was FLYING. Found out later, after talking to barney, that you were next to the filling station.. went past you at least 3 times, oh well catch up soon.
well done guys - I was feeling a little 'worse for wear' after 'Free bar Thursday' the night before (which started at 16:00 and ended at midnight)
