I've been wanting to get on track for a while now but have never been keen about using my road bike. I see a lot of you are of the same opinion after reading through some threads. I'm looking at maybe picking up another bike for start of next season, a winter bargain around the 2-3k mark ideally. Apart from the obvious like a good sticky set of tyres what else do you really need regarding the bike set up to get on track? I'm with the thought that the likes of a 600rr in good working order with a decent set of tyres would be enough for me. Just looking to have a bit of fun without the worry of speed cameras and Deer Would maybe even insure for use on the road as well. I would appreciate your input
First and most important piece of advice, ITS STUPIDLY ADICTIVE For 3k you should get a really good 600 ready to go....
Yeah i've heard that from a lot of folk So a decent road going bike would be fine? Anything you would recommend doing to it that wouldn't prevent it from occasionally being used on the road?
I know of really really well sorted Gixxer 600 k7. I had a look at it yesterday when I dropped my blade off that I'd sold to Iain.... It's got suspension, system etc etc spares , wets on wheels .. The list goes on and its in Kirkcaldy just above Edinburgh. If you'd like the members name inbox me and I'll put you in touch
Sounds exacty like what am looking for! Only snag is if hes looking to sell it now or later? As i was thinking more around February/March time for getting something.
Prices rise then! End of January is best when the Christmas Credit Card Bill comes in! Kick em whilst they're down!
I imagine he probbably wants to sell as soon as he can to be Honest.. As jay says wait till the end of jan if possible
