Thinking of adding one of these to the stable, a quick search on here revealed that a few have/had them. Varioius ride reports always seem to say "how right" this bike feels. There are a few posts on the net about dodgy 4th gears slipping etc. Any info greatfully recieved.
Must confess I haven't ridden one, only the CB13, all the tests say the big CB hides its weight the best and handles the best (for what it is). Still pondering.......
Despite all the very enthusiastic post above I picked up a low mileage CB at the weekend, just have to wait till wednesday to ride it.
I do like the CB1300 but not the SA version, i like a bike like that to be naked with zero fairings, what i have read on them they are the best of the old skool muscle bikes.
Up for auction on the 21st........http://www.bmar.co.uk/Vehicle/Details/0894d355-b055-4188-a731-c75a294e2697
I know what you mean about a naked bike but after having had a few nakeds in the past I always ended up with some sort of screen which was barely enough for me. I'm planning a tour sometime in Sept. I rode a naked CB1300 when they first came out and a XJR but I just like the Honda quality. Had a couple of rides so far and am very pleased, unlike most inline fours where you are always chasing the power this just kicks of straight away, it will even pull 30mph in top gear (about 1750rpm ! ). Obviously it is no Blade but it hides it weight well and handles OK inspite of it still having its original 10 year old Dunlop on the front, soon to be swapped for a 023. Tank range seems to be around 200 miles and it even has ambient air temp too. Will post some pics later, off for a spin now.
