Tell me about it. 1st dry Sunday in forever.......and I'm sitting Jr. Because Mrs V is away! Not my (biking) year!
I've got some tasks to do around the house before I shoot out but I do intend on doing some damage to my tyres and sliders this afternoon.
WTF! All week it's been going to be a good Sunday. It even stopped raining and the sun came out yesterday afternoon and we had an excellent red sky at twilight. I got up at 7:30 and it was pissing down. Again. It's stopped now and dried up but looking out the window it looks a question of time.
Please make sure its just your sliders Blags must be nice to give the bike a run out after all the hard work you have put into getting it back on the road ! Well done mate enjoy
mmmmm. cold but sunny at the mo, but black clouds lurking in the distance. Bacon under the grill, toms and lettuce chopped, will review the situation after BLT, orange juice and black coffee.
yes just my luck been a first dry weekend in ages and yesterday had my boys 5th birthday party and today other half over hospital as her dads not too well so stuck with my boys. i do get the feeling sometimes someone upstairs doesn,t want me to use bike!!
A good 5 hour blast and some new roads discovered that put a grin on my face. I am now satisfied for the day!
Same here went for a couple of hours out.Roads were clear, didn't do country lanes cos they're still puddly.
Ache like buggery now but chilling out with a bottle of wine. Ride outs planned for next two weekends lets hope we get the weather.
Did 200 mile after lee and I fitting my race tail.... Nice to get out. BUT, supposed to be 18 degrees, and it's was 12! It's July for fookeries sake.
Think we did about 350 mile. probably about 7 hrs in the saddle taking tea / smoke breaks into consideration. Went up through Bradford, harrogate, ripon, masham, hawes ( tea break), alston, hartside caff ( tea break) devils bridge, then long way round to get home. Filled up 4 times and wore through my slider on my right boot. Gonna have to get some titanium items. Absoluteley knackered when I got back. It's taking some doing getting my brain back up to speed, looking far enough ahead, concentrating on the vanishing point etc but bloody worth it. And I have to say i'm impressed by the way my mates GS gets round the twisties, better than the blade on the run to hartside due to the choppy surface. It runs out of steam at 130 though.
I managed to get out for a good run around Llangollen, Ruthin, Denbigh. Dry and pretty warm too. Only downside was a bad bike related crash on the outskirts of Llangollen. It involved an 04 plate grey R1 and a car, which had pulled out of a junction in front of him. The air ambulance was there and a whole army of paramedics and police, with the rider was being put into a neck brace when we arrived. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Apart from that, I was amazed by how well my mates Speed Triple goes. Great bit of kit and he certainly knows how to use it!
