I'm off to my pals to have a custom made link pipe fitted to the sp. Got micheal Rutters arrow can off his Macau bike to go on. Will upload pic and a vid this aft if all is successful and my mate is a good a fabricator as he says Good bye hairdryer... Hello noise
I hate my hairdryer lol. Got a Delkevic pipe coming today which, the guy assures me will fit he said he's sold a couple to 14 model owners already but we shall see if it doesn't fit I will make it fit I can't stand the silence anymore...
Well the delkevic slip on didn't fit the diameter on the new headers is huge it's got some proper girth. Peeved would be an understatement seeing as I also had my pants pulled down with my first service yesterday went to a different dealer and got charge £110 was not happy. I have removed the servo cable so on the plus side it's a bit louder but will lose a bit of punch on pull away. Seriously p'od at honda for making this change before the bloody after market crew had a chance to get some better offerings in the mix. IMO the SP shouldn't have come with a standard can anyway it should've had an Akra or something as standard what's the point of making a performance bike and then bolting that s**t on it Ffs.....
Sorry for the late reply.. Mr Owen accidentally closed the thread .. Still not finished . Hit a few teething problems which involved reining the Titanuim bracket and rewelding it lower down the can. There's no room at all to get a link pipe in. The engine would of been choked as the arrow was sitting about 80 degrees to the manifold outlet .. New position will see the can look more highrise and be somewhat similar to the termignoni on the pata Honda.. It will look good tho I'm convinced .. The exhausts looks a little used now after the welding and cutting .. Can anyone recommend anything to wrap it with? I was thinking a carbon look
What a difference a servo cable makes! After removing mine at the weekend people could actually hear my bike this morning which was a happy result as long as people can hear me I'm happy I can take my time and shop around for a decent exhaust and in the mean time I will sort out crash protection first.
Spoken to the Helpful Chaps at RaceFit they have confirmed that they now do a black edition for the 2014 Blades. They are still working on getting the perfect fitting for the infil panel so will have to put up with the hairdryer for a couple more weeks but then a black edition will be on order. I know it stands no chance of making it on track so for that I will just have to use the standard can but that is no big deal in the grand scheme of things.
Daz have you double checked with arrow, on my rr8 the trophy can will only fit with its own headers. I had the same issue thinking I could get a link made to fit it to the oem headers but even if you can get a good fabricator the length of the pipe will not release the full potential hp of the system. Arrow told me it will have to be custom mapped quite extensively to get less than optimum beans. In the end I bit the bullet and got the full system downloaded the base map then had it custom tweeked by Padgetts (I beleive they use this system on all there race bikes) It is a bit loud (track limit wise) but sounds and rides awesome loads smoother and more umph across the rev range. Cant remember the name of the firm but they are Arrows main uk importer......very helpfull, cheaper than everyone else and new there stuff.
Cheers for the heads up.. I've given everything you said plenty of thight before going ahead with the mods.. I've moved the hanger on the can nearer to the bottom which gives me more room to get a straight link pipe off the headers.. If I had it where it was originally positioned the angle to the headers would of been to steep so it would of choked the engine.. The Link pipe is pretty much done now just getting finished off.. I'm confident it will give more torque as its a longer sytem now. Looks well Tho as it follows the line of the subframe . It will be going to fw developments (dyno jet uk) for a custom library map..pretty sure it will look unique and i like being a bit different.. If its shite I'll take it off and put an Akro lol..by moving the exhaust higher up we've managed to avoid having an s shape link pipe as its fairly straight.. Hopefully this will get the gasses and emissions out quicker allowing her to breath better and kick out some power.. I'll be disappointed if it goes on the dyno and its less power but its good fun doing it.. No doubt lots of r @ d have gone into the exhaust by arrow to make it performe at its best. Hardly likely I'll come along and improve it..watch this space ( sp with arrow sytem 158 bhp )
I'll look into that martin.. It's titanium brushed at the minute so will, see what the best options are.. Cheers pal
