Hi, will be touring in Europe in the next couple of weeks and using the iphone for navigation. I use it in the UK, no problems with Copilot. Before I upgrade to the Europe maps, opinions on the Tom Tom or Copilot apps please? It has to be able to do multi stop points and customise the route which Copilot can do, but I prefer the look of the Tom Tom app Will I be able to set waypoints into the Tom Tom app, so it follows the route I want to take? Any opinions on either would be great, or are they much the same? Cheers
I use the tomtom app and have around Europe and it's been excellent. I have put various destinations in for certain dates and it automatically starts up on that date as it's synced with your calendar on the iPhone. I'm not 100% sure about putting routes in though as with the normal tomtom you can use multiple destinations to create a route but there is no routing tool itself.
i ve up dated my tomtom go for euro maps..... and it ll do fine via charger and lead..... was let down buying a second hand rider so for £45 updated my 520 go in one of those weatherproof cases with ram mount.... larger screen too.....
Thanks guys, F1reblade - So with the Tom Tom, I can add multiple waypoints, to in effect create the route I wish? I though this was the case, but not clear on the website...
Yeah that's right, you use the go via on the advanced planning part of the app and it works well. It's not the same as specifically using a map/routing tool but it's not bad. I personally love the app as I use it on my iphone with a Scala G4 on my helmet. I can listen to music or take a phone call and then it gets quieter when the directions come through.
Cheers F1reblade, I'm thinking of going for the tomtom. Can you add multiple 'via' points in the route? We are planning routes through Europe each day with multiple rendezvous points in case we get split up, so want to make sure I can get them all plugged in... Cheers
