    Hi,

Wanted to know thoughts on using shorter ankle boots like Alpinestars SMX 2 for touring? as i wanted something comfortable, light and easy to put in in a bag if needed...

S-mx 2 Shoe Footwear Shoes Alpinestars dainese motorcycle motorbike clothing motorcycleclothing helmets jackets gloves boots accessories belstaff arai spyke spidi shark brema ixs sidi alpinestars shoei nava yamaha honda guzzi harley davidson

I have a pair of SMX PLUS boots - they are big and may get hard work for the 7 day trip

    Any thoughts?

As brad says, stay with your plus. Toured in mine all over and they are great and comfy IMO. Wouldn't compromise safety particularly when your doing tones of miles on unknown and often fast technical roads.

Pretty much tour in everything I'd wear on track, inc 1 piece and never an issue.

Just remember that there is a reason you bought the regular boots, never compromise, when it comes to safety

I think there is a place for these types of boots, I've bought my son a similar pair for his 50 and riding to school as full blown would just be inpractical and he would land up wearing trainers or something stupid.

But I wouldn't wear these on tour

Full length only. Would you really like to expose your shins??
Have a look at TCX Infinity. I've spent many weeks touring in those, brilliant ;)
