Hi all, I'm booked to go on a MSV track day at Brands Hatch in early March and I'm struggling to find the baffle insert that came with my Yoshimura R77 exhaust. The exhaust without it's baffle inserted isn't loud loud, but I really don't want to attend the track day without a baffle because I don't want to get turned away for failing the sound test. I have seen universal decibel killers/baffles advertised online for about £15, but I don't know if I'm throwing good money away on something that won't make the slightest bit of difference! Anyone bought or used one of these universal baffles for use at a track day? Cheers Scott
Why don't you ask about with some of the dealers who sell the can if they do the baffle. I swear at some point someone posted a link ages ago to one one you can buy separate. I know my R77 kicks out between 102-104db with not baffles and that was tested over 2 day TD at cadwell
Cheers Remal, As suggested I have taken a look on the forum and located a previous thread in 2014, someone in the thread suggested Millenium Motorcycles, St Helens, so I'll give them a try. All the best Scott
If your really stuck mate I can lend you mine for the track day if your local you can pick up or if you cover postage costs both ways
is there any dealer or anywhere near who can noise test your exhaust for you? I did a trackday last year @ cadwell on my Street Triple R with the arrows exhausts. Pretty noisey without the baffles in. Easily passed noise test with baffles in, so I went and got it tested with the baffles out.... Pass
Thanks chaps, been talking to my local Honda dealer and they have an R77 on the shelf and have offered to sell me the baffle separately for £32. Same price as Performance Parts, so not marked up, which was a surprise from Honda! Going to collect on Saturday. Thanks for the kind offer Rosier1uk really appreciate it but I've decided to buy another just in case I get the trackday bug after my first outing at Brands! I tend to agree with you shackbleep, it'll probably be okay without the baffle because the Yoshi R77 isn't the most offensive of cans anyway. Thanks for all you help folks, I haven't posted much on here in the past, but when I have you've all been great! Cheers. Scott
