Well done the deal on my first blade (and Honda) today. Main reason for the purchase is I don't want to potentially smash up my other pride and joy on track (that and getting passed the noise testing is an faff).

Its an 08 non ABS with a full service history. Fairly standard apart from the following

    Tail tidy
    Stomp Grips
    R&G rad cover
    Seat cowl
Some motografix (which will be coming off)
The tyres were a bit worn so it will be delivered with a new set of Super Corsa's
Battery on its last legs so they are going to swap it for a light weight lithium

First step on the upgrades will be

    K-tech rear shock
    K-tech fork rebuild
    Brembo master cylinder
    Brembo M4's
    Hel lines
    R&G rear sets
    R&G casing covers
    R&G tank sliders

    Next year
    Exhaust and dyno set up
    Track bodywork

Just awaiting delivery so I can get started!!!

very nice, but I'd deffo go body work before m4's,in fact theres loads of things I'd do before m4's,in fact I wouldn't even buy m4's for the difference it will make to you.

decent pads,fluid,lines+m/c is all you really need

I'm probably going to ride it to a few track days until I get a tow bar and trailer hence the delay on the bodywork.

    Any other suggestions gratefully received.

I'm sure that whoever designed the Fireblade bodywork was having a laugh!!! I'm not sure its ever going back on again!!!

+1. It was difficult enough removing the bodywork - I couldn't cope if I had to re-install it. Luckily I will never have to,

I've installed MotoCarbons [firbreglass] race fairings held on with Dzuz fasteners ( & tenkate fairing brackets) ;all the bodywork can be removed in 5min or so.

Id hold off the fork internals untill you have run out of adjustment on the stockers. You won't notice the difference untill you're up to speed anyway.

Id go spend your money on tyres & tuition.. Never compromise on tyres. It's the only thing keeping you glued to the circuit.

Well its not quite going to plan......

My shiny new shock doesn't fit so its back with K-tech for a head scratch.

The Renthal 520 chain and sprocket kit arrived, sprockets fitted but the chain is too short so that will have to go back to Demon Tweeks....

Waiting for the Austin Racing exhaust to arrive.......

On the plus side I have a trailer!!!!

And had an email saying my track fairings should arrive tomorrow or Monday :)

    Managed a little bit today.....

    Got these on.

    Rear sets.jpg

And the Austin exhaust - that was the easiest bit so far - about 5 minutes to fit. Also started lining up the body work.
