blade at tt grandstand. stopped at creg ny baa. great spectating area, top of barregarrow. john mcguiness tt zero honda mugen surprisingly quick. had a great time, weather was not the best. defo never camping again managed a few laps of the mountain, loads of looneys on the road. racers killed 0 tourists killed 5. all things considered a great time.
Great pictures! Hope to make it over one day. Trouble is camping is not my thing either, have enjoyed this years highlights on a big screen telly viewed from a reclining chair.
you should go over the racing is fantastic, its a great vibe as well, just wall to wall bikes. i dont have a problem with camping as such, but i have a problem with people taking money under false pretences, advertising their camp site as welcoming with facilities but the reality is foot high grass, a burger van and pizza van and seven toilets between 400 people four of which were in total darkness after sundown. little or no cleaning took place as far as i could see.
Greetings, Sounds like Douglas RUFC ???? First camped there 2010, at least twice as many tents this year, same facilities, wont be going back.......Mike
I stayed at glenlough campsite and had good facilities IMO , weather not so good though I will go back but not on my bike, your squeezed in like cattle! Ok if your bikes a bit old but not on a new bike . Madness! Gutted the senior never went ahead but it's now crossed off the bucket list.
Yep, was there this year and the tent was ok, but the foot long grass, the mud by the end etc was just no fun. And as for the South Africans in the tent next door, FFS, keep it down at 3.30 in the morning.
ha ha yeah got it in one, glen lough 2011 too noisy but good facilities, douglas rufc 2012 very poor facilities, will never camp at the tt again. 2013 booked up for practice week, in a lovely b&b should be a bit quieter, with much better facilities.
Robin, We must have been pretty close to you, the very loud drunken one legged south african(s) were behind us with a father/son fron Oz in front, you really do get them from all over. Currently looking at options for next year, ferry booked but if we cant find the right accomodation we might go to the NW200 for a change...re damage to the bike , apart from the odd mirror bent never a problem they're usually pretty good. On the other hand where else can you overtake a copper at over the ton and wave to him as you go (Hailwoods Rise), made my week........ Mike
I have never been so close to committing murder in my life! Did you notice though, it was a tent full of south Africans, two of whom had no left leg. I was in the showers one morning and somewbody dropped their soap which slid under the curtain into one of the cubicles with a one legged south african in. The guy asked him to kick it back, not realising he only had one leg. Priceless! Does anybody have any suggestions for four walls and roof for TT2013, for a max of 6 people?
