Just 3 including me - we could only get 3 beds. Me, Brian (you met Sunday) and his mate Gary. Staying with one of Brian's mate of a mate's Dad. £30 per night B&B + the odd dinner. Going 1st to 10th June (ferry availability). He does know someone else that has rooms if you're interested? Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk
It's all about the 6 P's Freedom. I always plan/start booking trips/holidays a year in advance. If anything, it's usually cheaper. Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk
I'm organising a TT trip for 2014 me and a few mates well around 15 of us are sorting a bonkers 2014 TT so if you have any tips on the TT or where to stay then all help is welcome ! Thinking a couple of big campers for the women to drive with all the gear so the boys can take there toys ?
best of luck , it will cost you an absolute fortune to get a camper van to the iom during the tt, you would probably do better if you can get the van there before the tt and leave it somewhere on the island in storage , i know that is what a tt sidecar racer my mate knows does , even then it costs him over a grand to get his converted coach over there.
think of it this way.it costs around £200 to get a bike and rider to the iom at tt time . a camper is going to take the place of about 6 bikes depending on size.
What about cbr 1000rr boys invading the island and taking over for tt week? Come on boys viva revaluation lol
3 bikes and 4 people = £680 it's a racket I reckon. Unfortunately if you want to go this is what they'll sting you for.
I think the official figures for the amount of bikes going over to the island during TT fortnight is somewhere around 11300? according to the steam packet company's figures, so put into the mix the locals that want to show you how it's done over the mountain that's a hell of a lot of bikes in one place at one time. My new driver is going tomorrow. Ok I guess we are local ish to both ferry terminals. He's going over with five of his mates, they are going on their mountain bikes. One of the lads dad has a van and dropping them off at the ferry or there a bouts? He's got his camping for £5 per night with food caterers all around, and good showers eating isn't an issue. I think he said his ferry was £95 return, quite expensive considering but very little hassle. I quite like that idea, because there is no way I'd go over on a motorcycle During TT His decision is based on the following reasons 1 you won't get nicked for speeding. 2 you can cycle cross country to some of the best viewing spots without even having to touch tarmac. 3 your not on congested roads. 4 if you fall off your bike pissed up the police will only have a laugh with you and not lock up. Before anyone jumps in about slumming it in a tent, people do a lot worse. Seriously. People have been spotted in bus shelters the ferry terminal before now. I reckon it's a motorcycle version of Glastonbury. It's a party atmosphere. Go your own way. Just enjoy the TT however you choose to do it
