Its used to be a cracking night Shing, I haven’t been for years but I used to live only a few miles away in Four Oaks and was always good if the weather is nice, very well attended by both bikers and the police who to be fair to them didn’t get heavy unless people started doing stupid stuff. If you’re coming down the A38 from Derbyshire and turning left towards Bassets Pole watch out for the average speed cameras on the last section before you get there. It’s the same on the other way going back ! Bikes, a Big Mac meal washed down with a pint over the road is never too shabby is it. I would be interested to hear if it’s still a good night.
Hi Freedom. I attended a few meets last year, gets a great turn out in the summer months. I actually work in Tamworth, so was thinking of going to work on the bike and checking it out when I've finished. I know it's a bit early yet maybe (I only use to attend in summer), but I'm itching to get out at every opportunity as I've only had the blade two weeks. If there was not any others there I wouldn't really be going out of my way too much anyway.
Alex, my friend Alex I am very surprised at you, and there was L and I thinking you are a well rounded and educated chap that should know there is a wonderful green and promised land outside of south London. I am bitterly disappointed in you.
Appearances are deceptive, David! I get really scared outside my my comfort zone. And my zone borders are defined as the Thames to the north and the South Circular to the...er..to the south. Beyond that to the south is Devon as far as I'm concerned populated by hairy types like Kenneth waiting to burn stuff and mob things. To the north there are your lot led by a woman in a chariot with illegal alloys.
I go a few times through Summer, I usually take different longer routes there and back avoiding the A38 and enjoying some twisties. Some people go to the 'mucky duck' pub on the Canal at Fradley, head for Fradley Ind park then you will see sign's for Fradley Canel. On a warm Summers evening its a beautiful place to chill.
Bloody hell some memories are flooding back, but given my age they are bit rusty and I have been away quite while now. We used to go to a pub on the canal at Fradley on our L plated 250’s I think it was called the Swan but I could be mistaken, the mists of time are clouding my memory.
No Alex a perm, or it could have been a feather cut at that time but when / or if I ever get the photograph album back from my ex wife I will scan and confirm which it was. Either way I did have full head of hair back in the day when summers longer and the sun seemed to shine from dawn to dusk.
Good times! Well I had the mother, father and maternal grandparents of mullets back then. How my parents spoke to me with straight faces back then I'll never know. Mind you, I've got loads of pictures of them in flares.
