I've been thinking about modifying the headlights so that both have dipped and high beam and maybe upgrading the bulbs and wondered if there was any threads about how to do it? Or if anyone could tell me what I'd need to do. Cheers Colin
You can get a widget to create the effect (ish). See post 86 of this thread https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/dual-headligths.13685/page-5#post-474351 you don’t get both dipped and both high beam. This illuminates the high beam side with a lower wattage. In high beam it receives its normal feed and is fully lit, but the dipped side is unaltered. That said it’s worked well for me and would very much recommend.
I am currently working on a conversion kit to double Bi-xenon in my 2009 SC59 The headlight is ready only the wiring is left but I want the ballasts in the rear. So i'm still waiting for xenon extension cables. The kit is from https://retrofitlab.com
Wow any plans to dechrome the turn signals and marker lights? Would be great to see how it lights up the road.
no, I'll leave mirror's original and maybe I'll put LED in it to remove the orange glow and maybe give the unit a dark touch Does anyone know what type of bulb is in the blinkers ?? Which one do I need the BA15S/P21W or the BAU15S/PY21W ??
Not sure how I feel about twin headlights at the moment. With the dawn of driverless cars around the corner. Don't get me wrong the more light the better, but if self driving cars are to be AI camera only ( no radar / lidar ) I'm not sure about dual light sources being mistaken for a car further away.
That’s an interesting point, however there are already tons of twin headlamp bikes on the road so they will have to figure that out before the things become a reality on the roads. You’d think.
I hope I'm dead before the roads are full of electric robot cars...... might have to just kill myself if it happens sooner than I hope it will (+_+)
If we’re not, we probably will be shortly after. That said, once AI is good enough to drive without many serious accidents they’ll make it illegal to self-drive.
We've already got driverless cars....half the cnuts I see when I'm on the blade or mtb are looking anywhere apart from the road in front of them .....phones....half a ton of technical shit on the dash.... And if ever they do end up on our roads most of the decent working folks won't be able to afford them....they'll just replace the electric/expensive suv shite
