Managed to get a nail in my rear tyre and need to get a new one fitted by tomorrow evening but my usual place is booked up.

Bit of a longshot but does anyone know of decent tyre suppliers who can fit me a new rear around City/East London? (yep, will google as well but can't beat a recommendation!)

New tyre, I reckon. It can be probably be plugged reasonably well but even though it's not done many miles at 2K or thereabouts, I'd be happier buying a new one for the peace of mind. I ride at motorway speeds (*cough*) and 2-up mostly so wouldn't want to risk any blowouts, even if there's only a slight chance.

I've probably not done bad with it being my first puncture after ~40K miles of riding, given the different terrains I've been on. Wonder what the avg distance 1000rr'ers have gotten without a puncture?

You could try giving Keith a ring he is just round the corner from Kings Cross, so may be easier to get there

Cheers all. FWR and Essential Rubber all get rave reviews on the t'interwebz, but I can't get there while they're open tomorrow so will duly note them for next time.

Managed to source one from a place on The Highway I can get to, albeit with a bit of arsing about.
