Have been looking at changing the can on my 2013 bike (currently carbon AR GP3) and during my search for replacements, I wanted to know if it is possible to fit an underseat exhaust like that on earlier (08 perhaps??) models? If so, any recommendations, pointers etc? Apologies if it is a stooooopid question, I have zero mechanical knowledge
Seen a MotoGP rep can that has both side and under seat outlets, but not seen one that is just under the seat.
It's this thread, with pics: https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/interesting-rr7-exhaust.37572/#post-495196 I'm not sure there'd be enough room beneath fender because of the ABS box etc. And, is the 2013 the bike with the larger diameter headers? would be a nightmare, but not beyond and exhaust fabricators ability: https://www.pipewerx.co.uk/
You're a wealth of knowledge @nigelrb Horrible looking exhaust though, I mean why on earth would you ever want to have both under seat and side exhausts??? Each to their own I guess
That was my impression also, although I was a tad more eloquent by describing it as 'weird'. Maybe I'm not one to talk because back in 1971 I had a Paul Dunstall 4 into 2 system on my CB750 K1.
Thank you gents for the replies. I do have to agree, the whole quad exhaust monstrosity is awful! Just to be clear, I was only wanting the under seat exhaust, as I think it looks much neater than my current set up, that was all, and a set of twin outlets under there I think would look amazing, if not a bit duke/termignoni esque! Guess the search continues!
Don't waste your time and money trying to get an underseat exhaust on an 08+, it will never look "right" imho, get a 2nd bike! £4k will get you a spotlessly clean RR4 that already has underseat exhausts and will look "right". @nigelrb is your RR4 still for sale?
That is a fair point, I will PM you my bank details so you can send me the money, and I will be sure to send you the pics!
Erm, just happens to be. I was out on it today, absorbing the comfort and performance of this magnificent, pristine machine!!
- fair point....but I'm sure getting an 08+ to look right with an underseat exhaust isn't going to come cheap!
Bridgestone Battleaxe BT023. Don't know how old they are. I think they were manufactured before the days of date stamping!
Isn't he asking if its possible to fit under seat exhaust on 13 plus model....... This arrow abomination is from an 05 model. Any way..... Never seen one on a later model and not sure of anyone that makes them...... There would be some amount of butchery involved...... I wouldn't bother pal
Yes, that is the question, which is followed by a request for recommendations/pointers as below: So my recommendation was for the 04 - 07 Arrow system, but qualified by the problems with fitment. I merely plucked the old thread after it was flagged by another member, otherwise I would have floated another option of just trying to fit (again with difficulties) the OEM 06 - 07 system. The main problem is the beneath the undercarriage space taken by ABS etc (as mentioned). Agree it would require 'butchery' hence my advice to consult a specialist bespoke exhaust manufacturer. As @Abb says, 'the search continues'.
Yep agreed Nigel, I just wasn't sure why that old respsol Moto gp look alike thread was brought into it when that's not what was being referred to! I'm just nit picking haha
