Always a interesting subject. Maybe the BIB on here can shed the light for the few I know that are sure it's illegal. Which I know it is not unless under curtain situations. Like many if not all on here you come across the numpty who hogs the middle or outside lane's. More often I will undertake at a legal speed in the kit car and bike. As I try my best to only use the outside lines of bypasses and motorways to over take. What do you do when coming up to a slower car in the outside lane and it is safe to undertake at legal speeds? After the news in the media a few months ago out anti social driving ( which the UK has loads of). it was brought up by the wife and on forums how you may get fined for undertaking. Thought this might be a good topic and get reply's on how people feel about this subject?
Undertaking is always against the law P.S. Are the girls in your sig gif actually over 18? I'm going to have to turn off signatures when browsing from work at this rate.
I was reading on this subject in a past edition of the Bike mag, it is not against the law to undertake if done with due care and attention, however, a safe undertake is subjective and if a policeman thinks it was unsafe it is deamed to be so and you get done. Best not do it if your not sure and stay within the speed limit, and eat all your greens, If your riding a Blade it will be deamed unsafe you can be sure of that.
Agreed - good luck finding a copper who concedes (whilst on duty of course) that undertaking can be done safely/legally.
Dont care, I'll still do it either way. Cant stand people who sit in the middle lane all the time, and dont get me started on the Tw@s that stay in the fast lane because "they are doing 70 and thats the speed limit, so why are you trying to pass?" RAGE!!!!!
