Hi my pilot power 2ct's are coming to the end of their life span and i will soon be needing to replace them, Here is my problem, i cant decide on which set to get next, its between the pirelli diablo rosso corsa and dunlops sportsmart, but the reason why i would like quick advice is that pirelli are offering £25 cash back untill the end of june which gives me 8 days left to make a decision, should i buy the pirelli's or wait another couple of weeks untill i can afford the dunlops as they cost a little extra, i have read lots of posts on these tyres but hardly any actually state how many miles people are getting out of either of them, any info and advice will be greatly recieved
You will not go wrong with either hoops. From what I can gather from reading other forums and speaking to friends the sportsmarts have slightly better mileage. I have some Diablo Rosso Corsas' on atm. After 500m I cant fault them and with the £25 they are a bargain.
I ordered a set of Rosso Corsa's today PIRELLI DIABLO ROSSO CORSA 120/70-17 190/50-17 Pair | eBay UK £178.40 after the £25 cash back Not used them before but they are the replacement for the Diablo Corsa III which I have used and been very happy with in the past. I'm not too worried about mileage but I'd reackon on about 3500 out of the rear.
I fitted Dioablo Rosso II's a few weeks ago and I'm very impressed. Transformed the bike from OEM bridgestone rubbish!
Michelin have a deal on with petrol vouchers if you buy their tyres before July I think. Worth a look into
Fella - I have sportsmarts on my 09 - IMHO they are the dogs danglies - I had bridgestone OEM and then bridgestone retail - the dunlops just work real well. [fwr.co.uk] have a pair for £249 delivered FOC
+1 on the sportsmarts.. Much more feel than 2CT's which i have ran for 4 years.. 249 is a bargain swell.. i paid 260
thanks for all your info, i think that the dunlops are a slightly better tyre but im just not sure if they are worth the extra £70
right chaps after coming from a 07 model on corsa3,s to a 2011 model on stock tyres i cant really say if these new tyres are shit so cmon whats the problem with the OE tyres?
They're not bad to be honest but there are better tyres out there. The 50 profile doesn't help it either
Well mine only lasted 1200 miles, I changed them on 1400 and the back was bald and very illegal . The biggest problem i had with them was no matter how long i had been riding if i dipped the clutch hard to wheelie the back would spin. Not very good grip at all. I had a few slides coming into bends fast aswell
I had Bridgestone BT15's on my 2011 Blade. I didnt think they were bad until I put the Diablo Rosso II's on. With the Bridgestones, the bike was twitchy and followed any road imperfections, especially that crap tar spraying where the chippins have created ruts. The Pirellis carcas is very soft and plyable and much more forgiving on UK roads. They are very confidence inspiring and give great feel. Cant fault them. They should last quite well being dual compound and should be ok in the wet, although I dont ride in the wet if I can help it. The OEM Bridgestones squared off quite bad and the rear lasted about 1500miles.
& constantly lofting the front wheel! hehe I stuck with the 50 profile when I went to the Pirellis. Someone said it's best to stick with the stock tyre sizes so as not to confuse the ABS puter???
