Do Optimate do an adapter that plugs in to the standard IP56 flying lead that's permanently connected to the battery which has a female USB fitting at tother end?

Taint clear on the website and can't ring till Tuesday!

I dunno for sure, but i have the older Tamya connector and fitted a cigarette lighter socket on the end of one for my bike, this also allows the use of a USB adaptor.

That'll work Si but I don't want a great big hulking Fag lighter socket flappin about me Headstock area.

I want a lead that'll plug straight in where me Optimate 4 does and exits via a female USB, that way I can plug any of my charger leads in, now, and in the future, as everyone makes USB leads for their devices.

Bit pissed that I won't be able to use an iPad for navigation but I'm now looking at a Fork Stem adapter for the iPhone instead.

I tell ya, the feckin money I've spent on this Bike lark since January, good job the Wife leaves the money thing to me! :D

    You don't mate.
you run the cable with the fag lighter socket to under the rear seat unit. Then, run a cable with the ipad/iPhone charger from the headstock to under the rear seat, routing it under the tank cover, under main seat then to the fag charger.. Plug it in when needed. I've done the same and it's neat as anything...

To keep the ipad/iPhone charger out of the way when not used, Velcro it underneath e the tank cover at the front by the headstock.

    jobsa good un.

I see where you're coming from Si, but the trouble with that is you then have to route a new cable for every device you may want to use.

I currently have an iPhone 4S which uses the Apple 30pin charger.
I'll probably upgrade to the iPhone 6 (or 5S if they follow previous convention) later this summer which uses a mini usb charger
I might even want to charge a Google Nexus Tablet, dunno what that uses.

Point being is all these devices come with a 2' USB charging lead as standard so if I had a female USB at the Headstock I'm covered with no extra costs.

If I do as you suggest then I'll have to buy an extended 'Fag lighter to whatever charger lead' for each device and also have to physically route the thing back to the tail section.
This also would stop quick swap overs as you aint gunna keep swapping leads over are ya?

I have fag lighter socket under my rear seat and run a usb extension cable (99p off the bay) up below the seat and tank as described where it can power my satn av. I also have a usb and cigarette socket converter under the back seat so that I can also charge my phone/Scala/ipod or anything else I wish.

All in you can set this up for under a tenner. I use the above set up on my busa for touring. I only have a single fag lighter socket on my blade but it can easily be adapted as above.

Yup,that'll do, but if you go for the ones I posted, it does the same job, and cheaper.

The Burns one is $46 with a SAE connection, bout the same as the genuine Optimate one.

The DigiTek, Andrew, is ideal if you have nothing to start with but I already have a direct Battery connection with a flying lead and SAE connector for my Optimate
