Ok posting that kind of question on a Fireblade forum maybe asking for the Turkey's to vote for Christmas, but if the choice was between a 2010 HRC Blade, with about 5k on the clock, and a few nice extras, or a brand spanking new Kawasaki ZX6R, but its a 2010 bike with zero miles and unregistered with the usual 2 years warranty and cheap finance.... what would you get ?

Oh they are both about the same price, that is £6800.

they are not even in the same league, you either want a 1000cc superbike, or a 600cc screamer, there is no comparison

Although i agree they are different bikes in terms of their market, if trackdays etc were out and they were being used for everyday riding to and from work, would that even it up a bit ?

    +1

Do you want to ring the tits of it or have power on tap?

Tbh I do miss keeping my 600 singing but I just love the sound of a litre bike winding up

It's got to be the blade. The ease of use from using the torque of the engine can't be touched by the 600. It makes riding so much more smoother even when just taking a leasurely ride. "If you can do that anyway".

This might sound daft but the blade will actualy give you better mpg aswell. because you always have to rag a 600 to get it to go anywhere they just drink fuel

Yep this is true,my old gixxer 600 keeping with a blade was hard work both for me and the bike. When we filled up together it was always mine that needed more fuel and my fuel light would always come on first.Ride em both would also sway you to get the blade.

Have you ever used a litre bike? I guess not cos you wouldn't be asking this question :) the blade is not much heavier than the 600 but has so much more power which is very progressive and useable on the road

You simply cannot compare the two. Go with the blade, you will be getting so much more for your money!

I've just got shot of a very nice CBR600FI which i thot was comfy and quick but compared to the blade there is absolutely no comparison it's in a totally different league! The riding position, power, handling and the way all the little things comes together the bike just totally works with you! Test ride the Blade and let the bike do the talkin!! The way it just blips passed on the overtake, instead of droppin gears and screamin it's nuts off! It feels way safer on the road! Don't take any of our words for it! Ride the bikes! Suck it and see ;)

I am very biased when it comes to 2010 HRC blades but that aside, you will be bored of the 600 on no time then start kicking yourself for not buying the blade, the 1000 is such a great bike it would beat the kwack hands down for quality, reliability and looks all day long

Not only the power issue but ergonomic ally the zx6r is awful, typical Kawasaki with weight on your wrists all the time, oh, and the seat is awful, and they are prone to gearbox failures.

    Buy a blade. Simples.

What are your needs, what will you be using the bike for?

I have ridden both and them ZX6's are cracking little bikes.

In fact if I was buying a new 6 it'd be the zx or gix 6 for track only!
This is purely as I fancy a dedicated 600 track bike!

But as a day to day bike I'd take the blade every single time!

As soon as you take the zx6 out of the showroom it will be second hand, lost a load of money and you will be disappointed when ever a litre bike leaves you screaming the tits off it to keep up. If you go for the blade it has already lost that big chunk of money and you will be the owner of the best selling sports bike, proven for the road and track. With lots of nice extras to be had already on the market.
    Difficult choice?

The Blade is such a great bike, it does everything well. The 600 's are great fun but for me, there came a time when I just did not want to be hitting close to the limiter to get really moving. On a Blade you can commute, track, hack, tour, pretty much everything. A 600 sports bike is a lot more limiting and like some others have said, in a short while you will get bored with it. Plus the loss on a new bike is a big pill to swallow, the Blade has already lost it's money. Do the right thing Hudson.............become part of this group give a Honda a home ;)

Get the zx6 if you want to ride the bike, get the blade if your lazy and can't be bothered to change gear.

Most half decent riders will keep up with the 1000 on a 6r easily enough scratching out on the twisties
