After suffering a holed nosecone, and the pain/suffering of buying a new one and then replacing it myself I thought I'd buy a venture shield kit. Started fitting as per instructions - pick easy flat sections 1st blah blah, they all went fine, came to fit the nose section and it was a proper chew, that thing has so many curves...it's on but took many tries and I'm still not happy, so will be buying a nose shield section and will go for round 2 at some point in the near future... Hopefully it will be money well spent on avoiding more stone damage !

It's fiddly, you can't use too much liquid/slip solution, heat works well too, and it's sticks best when pulled, tension helps it adhere, it will strech quite a lot too. Best to get one section on. Then pull the rest, and be patient. Hard to describe! I did my bike, a learning curve. And then I did my Arai lid, I hate lid chips on my RX7GP
+ 1 on helmet chips,, Horrible sound of a stone hitting my quantum , how do the shields look on your helmet? are they noticeable ?

Not really, I'll pop some images up later. It comes in sections 1. The crown, this covers the part above the visor and backward. The same kit contains a piece to go under the visor, Below the chin vent 2. Holder sets, obviously covers the sides/holder sets as Arai call them 3. Small rectangle type section for the rear, stops marks from a pillion head butting your lid from behind. I bought all three, I think Arai dealers may now fit them FOC? Not really had a problem with chips on my lids Had to buy a new x spirit visor last week though as it was quite chipped. That venture shield is good though. I bought a big sheet of it and cut it myself. Used it on the front arches and side skirts of my Clio 197 as they're bad for getting marked and some on the Mrs car bumper and boot so the dog doesn't scratch it jumping in and out It's really hard wearing stuff and unnoticeable when fitted right.
I have attached some images of my Arai Nakano RX7GP, its 1 year old now and looks like new, bar the top piece (optional, you dont have to fit it) id say its almost invisible, you would only notice it if you knew it was there really. Going to get the ventureshield kit fitted to my bike during the next 2 weeks. I prefer to get it professionally fitted. Cost is around £179 as oppossed to around £120ish for the kit.
Waw . I didnt think it would be that invisable. I asked at the dealers when i picked my bike up and they said it looks like crap. A++holes !! i was gonna order a pipe aswell and they talked me out of it lol. Do they want my money or not ? lol
@ Bikeracer For a £50-£60 fitting on a bike, id get them to do it, that way if your not happy, you can get it done again. Its best part of a day to do properly id say @ dan, As for your dealer not wanting your money, its more like they cant be bothered to do it for £50 as its not just a few hours to do properly, its probably best part of a day. My lid took me about 4 hours to get right!
Yeah sounds about right. The same dealer refused to fit Honda number boards when i purchased my CBR600RR-7 when they first came out
I have done a couple of helmets, bit of a pain to get it on perfectly but once fitted it is virtually invisible. I have also done a couple of my bikes and again you have to be patient to get it right. The only downside is if you have to ever take it off. I got a chip right on the front of my bike and decided to replace the ventureshield as it has stopped the stone but had badly marked the shield itself. When I peeled the ventureshield off it took all of the paint off as well right down to the primer. I am not the only one this has happened to either !!!!
