Ha ha... They have been around for a while, as much as I like the idea of less thread wear I wonder if the amount of stick out is vunerable to objects etc, also if the cap were to come undone and the valve fail, Id guess and say a no no for racing as no lockwire option? Does this not just over complicate a simple drain bolt..... Anyway on some bikes like the blade it may be hard to get to as the exhaust is near the drain? And no I dont have one..
i wasn't sure sure they would get through scrut at a race meeting, but says in the ad that they have used them in BSB so who knows? deffo a good idea, especially as mine is lockwired so have to re string it every oil change.
I think its a good idea, but for me on my own once a year service I think I'm out... Im a fan of Keep it simple
Agree, defo a VERY good idea.... re track use its all very well lock wiring the cap, what about the base?
thats 1 of the reasons i'm dubious it'll be allowed as cant see a way to lockwire that part on. and tbh, theres no way i'm paying £35+ just to make an oil change 2 minutes quicker.
My take on the blurb is that you would still need to re-wire lock it after every oil change as it's the cap that's wired not the main barrel! Let's be honest if your changing your oil enough you get a knack for removing the plug without gettin covered in oil, or at least I did.
