My mate (no he's not) we will come to that later, ha ha, has just bought a Victory Hammer,he says they are to do with OCC choppers, i think this is untrue, they are owned by Polaris who make snowmobiles, anyone know different, anyhow i sat on this bike (fkin horrible) said i would have to 80 before i bought one, i was in another mates place when he rang up, slagging me off (phone was on speaker) saying how slow i was, this is from a guy who had a Aprilia rsv factory and a Duc 1098s who couldnt keep up and went home, and we had to backtrack thinking he had fallen off. i'm just dying to say something, (yep i have got a big gob) but will keep quiet for my other mates sake, needles to say we wont be going out following a Victory Hammer. lol !!
They are a Polaris company and I remember they linked up with Arlen Ness for a ltd edition Bike but I don't know if there's any link with OCC.
I ride a Harley davidson, so I like my cruisers as far as I know they have nothing to do with OCC, I really like sitting on the Hammer, but there were things I didnt like. 1. There was far to much plastic on the victory 2. I didnt like the look, they had a wierd kind of semi futuristic feel to them. 3. They seem to be going down the same route as Harley and apealing to the fake weekend badass bikers, sons of anarchy wannabees.
friend of mine has one and he bangs on about how them and any harley will eat an crap any sportsbike, he even sent me this sounds so much like the fella you know, thats the problem with bikes. so many guys talk a good race/setup so I nod, agree and laugh when you repeatable have to pull over and wait on them.last time out my friend was on an R1 and had been talking the talk so when we went out I rode the way I do on my own and had to pull over every few miles and wait, needless to say he didnt do much big balls talk that night in the bar lol.
totally irelavent realy anyone can go fast in a straight line, i see it every day. wait til you come to a fukin corner on one of those chop bikes. wow hedge ticket waiting. lol
few things on that vid which I pointed to him. longer wheelbase so you can get the power down harder, the guy on the blade was riding like a pussy lol.
I dont know why people try to say Harleys/cruisers are fast, sure you can get a V-Rod, you can get an XR1200, but a new Fireblade is going to eat them for breakfast, Sports bikes and cruisers do different things, I enjoy both for different reasons. As for bends, Sportsters are not bad for chucking round bends, and are very torquey pulling out of the bends. Just do what you enjoy doing and never mind what someone else is doing.
One things with Sports bike, you do seem to get a lot of numpties who think they can ride like Rossi, I've been out in groups seen some bad accidents and been in one that scared the crap outta me, I really get nervous riding in a group of sports bikes now, I prefer riding by myself on a sports bike.
read my first post, anyhow my "mate" no he's not, rode his XJR trade-in bike up to the motorbike shop last Saturday and literally just fell off it, outside of their showroom, how embarrasing was that, damaged exhaust, indicator, and lever , and the big fat bird from the burger van had to lift the bike off him, there is a GOD ha ha !!
