Hi, so I have this set of black fairings for the blade that i've been half heartedly trying to sell. I was thinking, rather than sell them why don't i bring em to life a bit (i like a bit of colour) and then keep them as a winter set / touring set. Has anyone had any experience of these kind of kits before? Are they meant predominantly for track bikes, and are they likely to look shite on a shiny new set of fairings? For the money I can just have a go and if i dont like it peel them off but just wondered if anyone used this kit from bikehps.com before. Dont want to be screwing up a set of fairings and chucking £60 away if they are no good.
I do decal kits as a hobby (please don't think I'm tarting for work as I'm not) Loads of people have brought there bikes to me after buying these kits and finding out they don't fit properly or don't look right. These kits are made to one size only not quite big enough for a 1000 and to big for a /750/600. Also the kits don't weather very well Hope this helps
I've bought one of their kits, few things I found and have to agree with Gibbo, one of the sponsors was spelt incorrectly and not wide enough to stretch across the nose cone and another sponsors logo was not the same as the logo used by the company (not sure if this was for legal reasons). My brother works for a sign maker so I got him to reprint what I needed. Would also say they scratch easily taking off the colour, I don think there is any UV protection in them and to be honest you would have to have thm lacquered if you wanted them to last. I'd ask Gibbo for a price lol
Well gibbo I appreciate your not punting for work, and to be honest I'm not really looking to spend any more cash, but hey I'm easily led astray. Tell me, with a blank canvas like this where could this go and what could it cost? I'll probably get laughed out of town but I saw a 2012 with the monster graphics I thought looked pretty good ( like I said, I do like colour) but what other options are there for a black base? Cheers
Black or white are the best colours to decal everything shows up better,I think I've mentioned this before but sometimes "less is more" The scheme is wide open as you've said it's a blank canvas,I try to steer clear of sponsor logos that don't go with certain manufactors ie honda/relentless it just does not go monster sponsors would look great on any bike because they sponsor everything lol it just depends on how it's all laid out. I can make kits with as little or as many sponsor logos as you want. The most important thing is they look right on the bike ie right size, colour and shape. Price ideas a full one colour kit £35 full colour kit £50. The biggest problem people do is to much colour,to much colour takes the eye away from all the detail. You could have a bike that's cost £500 to decal up but looks a pigs ear against a bike that's £50 to decal up its all in the design and colour
Is there any chance you could stick up some pics of some of the work you have done, or a link if you have already done so?
Hi, this was the scheme I had seen, what do you think of this? Honda CBR1000RR ABS Brand New 2012 Model | eBay
From what i can tell this is not a wrap, its rather a decal kit like the castrol one i bought for my white fairing set. Its not a big job, but is one that takes a little patience with a heat gun to do the nooks & crannies properly, but looks ace once done.
I know, that's what I was thinking.... I like bits, and I like the colour. The tank in particular just doesn't work for me.
