My broad band has been down for two weeks, but got fixed on Tuesday, the only web sites I have been on since then are here and Ducatiforum.co.uk. My work lap top went down with a virus yesterday morning, IT have told me it’s done, forget it, we will try and reinstall but it looks like you need a new one. I couldn’t really care less about the lappy but like all men I am lazy and the desk top was full of files I had neither backed up or transferred into the server so I have lost weeks if not months of important work.

I am not saying it’s from here or the Ducati forum but for sure it looks like it might be.

Sorry I can’t remember which threads/posts I read, so can’t advise what to avoid.

    what anti-virus do you use?
I use both forums with no problems, maybe rob has
    had problems with the servers.

I texted Ken this morning and he said no one else had made any comments but would check it out. I work for a huge global company with a very anal fire wall. Even the IT department is a bit baffled but did comment that it is a very new one. I think they might have told me what it’s called but to be quite honest I lost interest as one of our new interns walked past in a very short skirt, shallow I know but.... I will give them a call tomorrow and find out what it is.

I did pick up a bug from bakebook a few weeks ago that sent
my acer into overheat mode and damaged the drive.
thankfully acer said they will fix it for free so they have it now.

Pete, it wasn’t the skirt I was looking at, it was what was in it....... As for the virus, The IT guy didn’t show up in the office today so I called his private mobile and he said he had a bit of night out and couldn’t go near his car today. Oh what it must be like to be single and go out on the piss on a Thursday night and not give a fig about work the next day......oh, hang on a minute......I am not single but do I give a fig about work the next day when a piss up is on the cards……and did I go into the office today.. No I didn’t.

Been using external storage between machines?

Probably more likely than on the forum!
