I'm just about to buy a new visor for my Arai Viper GT. I'm trying to decide what tint / pinlock combo to go for. Last year I ran all the time with a clear visor with a tinted pinlock. Anyone got any experience with iridium visors?? I was even thinking about getting an light tint arai with a tinted pinlock to darken things up a bit?
personally mate i'd go with a clear pinlock and tinted visor, that way you can swap the pinlock to a clear visor when you need maximum visibility i.e at night, rain, or fog when you will need the benefit of the pinlock the most! you'll get the look / effect you want from the tinited visor anyway...
I have a blue iridium for my shoei and its great for me. I am however a fair weather rider and dont ride at night. The one time I did I had to lift my visor to see anything other than headlights!
i always keep the clear visor with me for this reason (and incase i get stopped)... if the lights dropping i'll pull over and put the clear on to get me home, if its bad conditions i'll swap the pin also to get that benefit too... thats why i'd always have a clear pin...
I have had Iridium in the past and found them to be good. but now aways just have dark, clear and mirror. But new Shark Visor R has a internal visor
I use a clear visor on my Arai, but have both a clear pinlock and a tinted one. I just swap the pinlocks over when needed and they are smaller to carry than a spare visor. Everyone is individual tho', you pays yer money and makes yer choice!
Get the dark visor and clear pinlock. On sunny mornings i ride with dark, but keep the clear one on me for the way home. I have an iridium one which i loved but it scratches really easily and you must clean of bugs and stuff or it goes a bit manky.
