So with my new Shark lid I want to get a different colour visor. Just looking and I have a choice of clear, light tint, Gold Mirror, Silver mirror or Blue Just wondering when tints you have on your summer visor and what you find best? I've tried most and normally go for the dark tint but seems racevisors don't sell dark tint. So may got for the Silver mirror.
I've never been certain on the laws concerning coloured visors. Anyone in the 'Job' care to illuminate?
Ive got a pinlock'd visor on my Arai, plus tear offs. its actually one of hicmans old visors, a proper Arai 'factory' racer only model lol.
from what I understand it all depends on the BIB who pulls you. I always wear dark visor when sunny or bright. but a No no in dusk or dark conditions. I say that I've used dark visors many times in the kit car at night but as its not a legal thing to wear a lid in a car i'm fine. I think I've never had a issue with dark/tinted lids if you wear them at the right times.
Dark visor on a pure white Shoei. I wont buy any other colour helmet, had a couple of big off's when I was younger and I am still here so its a bit of a superstition thing. I had to borrow a mate’s helmet once that was black and I was heavy breathing the whole time. Never again, its got to be white or I am not cocking my leg over, rather get the bus.
Thats mint arthur i hate dark tinit visors there look ok but not for me when riding!! ive got the photochromic one in mine
I've got an xspirit 2 remal and also use a dark tint as its a tomizawa rep, I love the dark tint in summer and as long as you don't ride in the dark is no problem. I've never been pulled either, I also have a spectral blue and it is great to see through and looks ace with the lid.
Hi Matt confused of the fens. I got a dark tint from Race visors Motorcycle Helmet Visors | Shoei Visors | Shoei CW-1 Visors | Clear
Dark one for me! but always carry a clear with me and been stopped once, the fact i had a clear with me meant i was ok (obviously this was his view, others might not be so forgiving) but any visor has to have a pinlock...they are bloody amazing.
dont forget thevisorshop.com too, and sportsbikeshop.co.uk for spare parts for some lids.. I have a collection of visors as I am sad, think I have aprox 20 of them now...lol I fit a clear one most of the time and 99% of the rest of time its UP...lol
