Basically on my final session while comfortably lapping at 2m 17s I came up the finish straight rolled into the fast corner in 3rd at 100mph+ passed a slower rider with an Aprilia and as I adjusted in the seat I accidentally knocked her into 2nd gear without realizing so when I came off brakes, blipped throttle and went for 2nd at 80mph I got first gear and bye bye rear end, hello tarmac..... Action starts at 12:20 if you just want to see the crash or 7mins onwards for fast lap Snetterton 300 Novice group 22/04/13 - YouTube
blimey, hope you and the bike are ok mate!? easily done hey.... bet you gave the guy on the aprillia a shock too!
You was doing so well up until then Navvy. Gutted for you, and a valuable lesson for us other up and coming newbies. Sadly at your exspence. Hope you get sorted very soon.
Nope managed to miss everyone and also not get run over sliding 30m down the track The slipper clutch has a down side as you can see.... It's so smooth I didn't feel it knock into 2nd but you can hear the slight engine noise change if you listen carefully Bike hasn't got any major damage but still will be lots, need- Headlight nose section left fairing left bar end Left mirror stalk Alternator engine casing gear lever if I'm fussy (I am) pazzo clutch lever
Tempting Jimbo but it's still worth over 7k if I get the original parts back on it so kinda need to protect my investment but..... I could still get the track fairing and fit for summer months with crash bungs
My injuries consisted of a bruised left calf that the bike landed on (I have wrap around sidi boots luckily) and a bit of bruising to my spine but also had a back protector under leathers. TBH I jumped straight up and didn't feel to bad but I won't pretend I wasn't a bit sore after my hot shower that evening. Biggest injury..... broken heart! Never nice to see something you spend so much time and money on slide down the road But on the plus side!!! 2m 17s lap time is apparently not too slow going and I was on almost worn out 2CT's and you're meant to have 80% tyre life for maximum grip on track I've now been told
Not good, totally gutted for you. The idea of track fairings does have a great deal of appeal behind it. Hope you get it all sorted soon though.
i was faced with a similar choice, after going off road on the blade one night and doing over 3k worth of damage, i spent that money on an R1 for the road, and tracked the blade for (well it's still costing me) minimal money. prob not the best way round to do it, but now have best of both worlds.
oh i never had the money either! Mrs V wasnt that impressed to be fair.... But now I have this... And this (soon to be painted) Every cloud navvy every cloud.....
They were from a16 road and race. 330 quid for the lot and fitted pretty decent to be fair. Still have to factor in some brackets, heat shield, seat foam and painting (if you want) but works out pretty cheap considering. Was the only tail unit I could find with the Hrc profile - ie all one piece - that fit the standard sub frame. More than pleased with it tbh
