I decided to have a trip over to my Parents yesterday for lunch and a cuppa. Round trip of 220 miles. Now it was much hotter on way home and by the time I was coming through chesterfield I was pretty sticky. So was my right foot!! By the time I got I to Buxton the sole of my boot was hanging off. The exhaust and sun were so hot it had melted the glue holding my boots together! I managed to get to Cat and Fiddle where I had to carry out repair works on my boot to get me home (Shame). Has this happened to any one else?? Is there a heat shield or something like to prevent this happening again

Not heard of this! What exhaust do you have? If it was a Taylormade style with exhaust exit under foot peg it might be understandable?

Sorry don't mean to trivialise this, but just put your foot on the peg rather than the exhaust.......problem solved

No doubt in this weather my right foot can feel the heat from the standard can, but never hot enough to damage my boot, so not sure why you had that issue.

Hi mate, this might be connected the standard exhaust is not just an end can it has the catalytic converter in there as well and Fastbikes raised an issue with the heat emitted causing damage to the shock!
