Are they compatible with bike paint and plastics?
I’m wondering if there’s any mileage in using it to clear light dirt or bugs after a ride.
At the moment I use the wet cloth soaking then wiping method with a touch of meguire gold wax spray

Personally i wouldn't use one of these waterless wash things surely it grinds any dirt in, nothing better than giving the bike a good traditional wash on a warm day with a bottle of bud or whatever you drink.

If it's lust bugs from the front fairing you are removing, then I usually just wet some kitchen towel and let it sit in fairing for 10 mins. It softens the bugs, then just wipe away. Finish off with baby wipes, then polish with cheap W5 Lidl furniture polish. The only other dirty part of the bike is the rear wheel (chain splatter/dust). Spray on WD40, let it do it job, then wipe off with baby wipe & again Lidl polish to finish.

I’ve used a selection of them, Vulcanet Wipes, Miyagi Wipes, Williams waterless wash.

I have no problem using it on the bike for the use you describe, although I do the wet paper towel soak for bugs because they could have been there some time and dried out.

I’m no detailer though and couldn’t tell you about fine scratches, paint swirls etc. I just accept that the bike will pick up blemishes through use.

I use Vulcanet wipes, they are great. Not one to subsidize a proper double bucket wash, but great for inbetweens.

A dry wash is not for me. I either wash it or I don't.

I'm quite happy to leave flies and dust on mine inbetween proper washes. Paint is protected with wax so just leave the bugs be and wash it properly every 3-4 rides.
